| Abstract: | In his later years, SUN Li's aesthetic ideas came to be based on the ideal of naturalness. Within the contemporaty cultural and linguistic context, SUN Li applied the traditional Taoist ideal to various themes, from the relationship between art and politics to the nurturing of aesthetic open mindedness to the freedom of literary expression both in content and form. This consideration for naturalness is both profound, systematic and creative, making SUN Li unique among contemporary Chinese writers. |
