关于五代宰相制度的若干问题

五代时期朝代更迭频繁 ,政局动荡不安 ,对宰相制度产生很大影响。五代宰相的名号和机构基本上沿袭唐代 ,其一大变化是宰相的品级得到统一固定和提高。五代宰相的权力遭到枢密使、翰林学士和端明学士的侵夺和分割 ,受到极大限度的削弱。五代时期不乏有一些颇有作为的宰相 ,但从整体上看 ,平庸之辈居多。

A Probe into the Prime Minister System of the Five Dynasties

The Five Dynasties witnessed a frequent succession of dynasties.The ever changing political situation exerted a significant influence on the Prime Minister System,the nomenclature and institution of which mainly derived form the Tang Dynasty,with its rank greatly stabilized and upgraded.However,because of the infringement of the Privy Counselor,Hanlin Academicians and Duanming Academicians,the power of the Prime Ministers in the Five Dynasties was largely diminished.It may be true to say that there was no lack of able Prime Ministers in the Five Dynasties;however,the fact remains that mediocre Prime Ministers composed the mainstream.
