关于林则徐在新疆思想和实践的评价

文章从身处逆境心怀报国志不移、远见卓识关心新疆边防、伊犁开垦与南疆勘地、文学创作的深化与完善四个方面,充分肯定林则徐在新疆的历史功绩。同时指出,在古往今来的评价上,存在着一些或高或低、不够恰如其分的地方:如林公树、伊犁捐垦的动机、南疆勘地、林公井与林公车、哈密军民数万人环跪具呈等问题,认为应尊重史实,恰如其分,这丝毫无损于林则徐的伟大,更能显示历史科学的严肃与公正。

An Evaluation of Lin Zexu's Ideas and Practice in Xinjiang

This paper affirms Lin Zexu's contributions to Xinjiang in terms of Lin's staunch patriotism in adverse situations,far-sightedness in caring about Xinjiang's frontier safety,Ili reclamation and south Xinjiang's prospecting,and deepening and perfecting of literary creation.At the same time,it points out inappropriate evaluations of Lin Zexu in history.It thinks that history must be respected,which will not harm Lin's great contributions.
