| 摘 要： | 通过分析美国近代对华外交政策特点,研究这一政策对美国退还部分庚子赔款的影响,从美国退还部分庚子赔款前后态度的转变、退款用途的规定以及美国各界人士的观点,揭示了美国退还部分庚子赔款的真实动机,指出其根本目在于取得经济利益的同时,推动文化在异国的复制,进一步巩固和增强美国在华的外交地位。认为＂庚款兴学＂并非是几个人努力的结果,既有美国对华外交的现实需求,也有更深厚的文化背景,在客观上有益于中国科技和教育的发展。

| Abstract: | By analyzing the characteristics of the diplomatic policy adopted by the United States to China in modern times we can have a deeper understanding of the influence of the ＂open door policy＂.The opposite change of altitudes held by the USA on the Boxer Indemnity and the opinions of experts from different American social fields reveal the underlying purposes of the USA,that is,to gain economic interests and speed up its cultural invade in China,thus enhancing and strengthening its dominant diplomatic status.The policy of returning parts of the Boxer Indemnity to finance Chinese students in the USA reflects both the realistic diplomatic demands but also the cultural purposes of the United States.However,the policy objectively stimulates the development of science and education in China. |
