| Abstract: | Theme structure is a universal linguistic regulation,which exists in different layers of discourse.This article analyzes the theme structure,its informational and cohesive functions from the perceptive of Systemic-functional Grammar.It aims to explore the functions of the theme knowledge,especially the application of the modes of theme-rheme development to EFL teaching. |
