| Abstract: | English marginal prepositions, an important part of speech in grammar, enjoy a high frequency of usage, especially in written language. Based on the study of the functions and characteristics of prepositions, the author of the paper discusses the three types of marginal prepositions in English. The purpose of the discussion is to enable the reader to distinguish between marginal prepositions and present participles and past participles, which can help lay a solid foundation for the correct application of marginal prepositions. |
