On the Social Functions and Development Modes of Non-profit Organization in China

A non-profit organization is neither a government nor an enterprise and its social function is to produce quasi-public goods so as to benefit the society. This paper holds that the development modes of economic industrialization, non-profit orientation and professional management should be established in non-profit organizations in China based upon the political and economic environments, the social functions and the approaches to the fulfillment of the functions.
