| Abstract: | This article analyzes the historical evolvement of matchmaker in ancient times of China and maintains that the ancient matchmakers not only played the role of medium in marriage and embodied abundant social and cultural connotations in their own historical periods but also displayed a grand historical painting of folk custom and social scene. |
