摘    要:从19世纪后期开始,基督教对华传教战略发生根本性的转变.以传教士为中心、建立传教机构管理和资助下的教会、雇佣本地助手从事传教活动的旧模式被否定,建立自立和本色化教会的新理论逐渐形成.这种由西方传教理论家和来华传教士发展起来的理论,主张中国教会应走向自养、自治、自传之路,建立与中国社会和文化相融合的本色教会.在20世纪中国民族主义运动日益高涨的背景下,来华传教士通过教会合一运动、向中国教会移交传教事业等行动,将新的传教理论付诸实践.

Abstract:The missionary stratedy toward China began to change in the late 19th Century. The old model of missionary work, with missionaries as church leaders who used missionary funds to employ native helpers, was criticized and substituted generally by new missionary theory. This new missionary theory advocated the idea that native Chinese churches should be directed to the road of self supporting, self governing and self propagating, thus founding indigenous church which compromises Christianity and Chinese society and culture. The missionaries realized this theory by pushing forward the church union movement and the transfers of missionary works to Chinese churches.
