略论周敦颐圣学观的内在逻辑和思想特色

On the Inherent Logic and Traits of Zhou Dunyi's Idea on Sages

The idea on sages forms a key part of the thought systems of Zhou Dunyi,a thinker of Northern Song Dynasty.Zhou took "honesty" as the basis of being a sage and "desire-less" as essence to be a sage.In upholding values of "mean,integrity,benevolence,righteousness and introspection",he paved the route of "learn to behave like sage did" for the neo-Confucian school in Song and Ming dynasties.Zhou’s idea on sages was brief and pertinent and absorbed essences of Taoism and Buddhism;it played a historical role in shaping the transition of Confucianism.
