We should improve the PRC Constitution in effect according to the guiding principles of the Seventeenth National Congress of the CPC. The Constitution needs to distinctly record the new historical period of reform and opening up, clearly reflect combining a path of socialism with Chinese characteristics with a system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics,officially establish economic, political, cultural and social development forming an organic whole as the overall arrangements for the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics, completely point out the goal of making China a prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced and harmonious modern socialist country, practically amplify certain regulations concerning socialist democracy, continue amending some formulations on the national economy and social development.
