In view of present inefficient college English teaching, the cultivation of metaphoric competence is of great necessity and importance. The cultivation of metaphoric competence should cover the construction of themetaphoric ideation mode, the accumulation of conventional metaphoric expressions, the cultural introduction of the target language and the perfection of English teaching assessment system, aiming to enhance the English learners’comprehensive practical capability.
