晚清中国人走向世界的一次盛举：1887年海外游历使初探

1887年清政府通过考试选拔，派遣12名游历使分赴世界四大洲二十多个国家进行为期两年的游历考察。游历使们撰写了几十种外国调查研究报告和海外游记。这是19世纪80年代中国人走向世界的一次盛举，对中国人认识世界、学习西方、推动改革和促进中外文化交流都有一定积极意义，可是国内至今尚未见对此事的专题研究。本文根据各种游历使著述及档案、报刊、日记等史料，对其进行初步的见证，研究和探讨。

Traveling Envoys abroad in the Late Qing Dynasty

In 1887, the government of Qing Dynasty selected and sent 12 traveling envoys to more than 20 countries is the world on a two\|year mission of investigation. These envoys wrote dozens of investigating reports and traveling notes about foreign countries. This was an important attempt made by Chinese people in the 1880s to understand the world. To learn form the West, and to promote cultural exchange with other countries. This article is the first study on this historical event.
