“束发椎髻”非南越之俗——兼论“束发之俗”的起源及其他

束发椎髻不是岭南越族之俗 ,最早盛行这种风俗的是中原地区华夏族的先民。岭南越族的发式有断发和被发两种。自商周以降 ,由于中原华夏文化的南传 ,束发椎髻也流行于岭南。秦汉以后 ,随着汉文化的传播 ,束发椎髻被更多地区和民族所接受 ,而且盛行于全国各地。

Harir Worn Up in a Bun Was Not the Southern Yue People's Custom

To wear one's hair up in a bun was not the Southern Yue people's custom.It was the ethnic Han's ancestors who lived in the Central Plains that first initiated the custom.The Yue people who lived to the south of the Five Ridges (the area covering Guangdong and Guangxi)used to clip their hair close or let their hair flow down their backs.Since the Shang and Zhou dynasties,the Chinese culture of the Central Planis transmitted southward,and the custom of turning up one's hair also became popular to the south of the Five Ridges.After the Qin and Han dynasties,with the spreading of the Han culture far and wide,the custom of wearing one's hair in a bun became prevalent throughout the country.
