| Abstract: | Rich archeological findings and documentary materials have proved that the ancient Yue people had the custom of worshipping holy wood,which reflected in the wide use of dugout coffin,dugout canoe and the carved totem pole made of a single wood.The sacred tree worship now prevailing among the ethnic minorities in South China has very close relationship to the holy wood worship of the ancient Yue people. |
