A Brief Discussion on the Mother Image in The Ballad of Narayama

In Japanese literature,there is a lot of works which created all sorts of mother images,The Ballad of Narayama is that type.This fiction was written by the well-known modern literature writer Shichir Fukazawa,it is a short story which reflected social reality profoundly is also a rewarded and respected novel.The author of this paper probes into the mother image by text interpreting and analysis of the fiction.First,the environment of the novel was analyzed and then the character Aling was explained in detail,and finally the mother image was studied on which a conclusion was drawn: the mother was great and self-forgetful,kindly and doughty.
