| Abstract: | The connections and differences between communicative competence and cross-cultural communicative competence are clarified first.A contrastive analysis is made with the conclusion that cross-cultural communicative competence is the extension of communicative competence while communicative competence is the basis for the development of cross-cultural communicative competence. |
