思维方式与高校英语教学

摘    要:由于受地域、历史、社会、文化等诸因素的影响,英汉语言存在明显差异.中西方思维方式不同是第二语言习得的主要障碍.为此,在找到中西方思维方式不同之处后,提出了英语教学的策略,即运用人类思维同一性原则,掌握中英文的相同点;在课堂教学中,让学生深入情境,培养创造性英语思维;积极开展第二课堂教学,让学生在运用语言的过程中培养英语思维方式.这应是搞好英语教学的主要途径.

Abstract:There exist clear differences between English language and Chinese language due to the influence of such facters as geography, history, society and culture. The difference between the mode of thinking of the Chinese people and that of Westerners is the main hurdle in the learning of a second language. Consequently, this paper tries to find out the differences between the mode of thinking of the Chinese people and that of Westerners, and suggests some tactics for teaching English, namely, getting hold of the similar points between the Chinese language and the English language with the help of the principle of identity, cultivating the ability of making creative thinking in English by letting students go deep into the context in classroom instruction, and actively developing second classroom teaching to let students cultivate their English mode of thinking in the process of actual application of the English language. These seem to be the chief channels for doing well the teaching of English to university students.
