Research on Kripke's Philosophy of Language

Kripke put forward a new naming theory, holding that the name of everything was nothing but designator, and the name''s reference had nothing to do with its meaning. This theory gave the traditional theory of referring by Russell a great challenge. Moreover, his theory of possible worlds and necessity rigidly distinguished two pairs of categories: necessity and haphazard, and pro test and post test. It broke through the boundary of traditional analytical philosophy and established the foundation of modal logic''s semantics. His philosophy of language not only provided a new research field for philosophy of logic, but also promoted the development of scientific realistic thought.
