| Abstract: | On the eve of the 60th Anniversary in memory of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, CCTV launched a blockbuster historical TV series Liberalization. Marked as the highest level and a typical example of ＂Main Melody＂ TV and film works in recent years, the TV series demonstrates some distinctive narrative characteristics while absorbing merits of previous successful works of the same type. The characteristics include： the overall textbook-type panoramic and epic portrait, changes in the narrative angles that differ themselves from past works, and sophisticated handling of details throughout the series. All such characteristics combined together make Liberalization a distinctive artistic creation with its special significance. |
