| Abstract: | Graham Greene is a remarkable modern British novelist who has succeeded in earning not ouly widespread criticalacclaim but also a vast international readership. The Heart of the Matter is his most controversial religious novel. The authorof the paper tries to illustrate Graham Greene's humanist thought and its effects on his novels by analyzing the tragic fate ofthe protagonist in this novel. |
