论普遍主义

普遍主义出于西方传统哲学。夸大追求普遍知识的方法和态度、并把它扩大到普遍知识以外的一切领域,就产生了普遍主义问题。普遍知识不是一切知识之谓,也不是普遍接受的知识,而是具有普遍必然性的知识。这种知识是有局限的知识。因而,从普遍知识衍生出来的普遍主义也是成问题的,它是目前反思和批判西方传统哲学的重要议题和靶子。挣脱普遍主义的束缚是解放思想、走向生命自觉的要求。在西方传统哲学的框架内批评普遍主义容易陷入相对主义甚至虚无主义。站在普遍主义和相对主义对峙之外的中国传统哲学为克服普遍主义提供了可能的样本,也展示了一种与西方不同的从事哲学的途径。
