清代四川经学著述的地域分布呈现出不平衡的局面.无论从经学家还是从经学著作方面观察,经济、文化发达的成都、重庆、资州都是前"三甲";而就这三个地区的内部各县而言,其发展也是不平衡的.但值得注意的是,一些经济文化并不发达的边远地区,在晚清时期也出现了经学研究的风气,如酉阳州.虽然晚清四川经学出现了相当大的转机,但从总体上看,清代四川经学与江、浙、皖等省的差距还是比较显著的.究其原因,大体有二:一是四川僻处西部,学术信息不灵,新的学术方法、学术热点的传入需要一定的时间;二是从清代四川经学研究的状况看,缺乏开一代新风的学术大师.
