| 摘 要： | 利用海德格尔的存在主义哲学观点，对美国作家刘易斯的小说《巴比特》进行一种存在主义的解读，认为巴比特最后地回归不是简单地重复，而是在沉沦中对自身地超越，在沉沦这一不得不面对的事实中把握自身，做出决断，以新的具有伦理或道德的生活态度对待与其他人和物的关系。

| Abstract: | The paper is intended to interpret the novel Babbitt by the American writer Sinclair Lewis in terms of Heidegger＇s existentialism, attempting to unveil in Babbitt, the protagonist＇s life of vicissitudes the structure and the meaning of his individual being. The paper has reached the conclusion that at the end of the novel Babbitt＇s re- turn is not an unchangeable repetition of life, but the transcendence over himself in fallenness. Babbitt, facing the unavoidable fallenness, took himself serious, making resolutions of treating other people and things with a newly ethical and moral attitude. |
