摘    要:在自主学习模式下,英语教师必须清楚地了解每个学生的语言能力和个性、学习目标和计划。在30人以内的实验班里,许多人为促进自主学习英语进行了卓有成效的研究;但是,随着高等学校的不断扩招,很多大学英语课堂的学生人数已经突破了5 0人(甚至多达90人) ,一个英语教师不大可能照顾到每一名学生。尝试使用计算机辅助英语学习系统,采取课堂辩论等形式,在大班型教学环境下促进学生自主学习英语,充分发挥学生学习英语的自主性,很有现实意义。

Abstract:In the learner autonomy model, English teachers must have clear recognition about every student's language ability, personal character, learning aim and plan, etc. Many researchers have achieved a lot in promoting learner autonomy, with less than 30 students in most experimental classes. With colleges and universities' expanding enrollment, the number of students learning College English is more than 50(even up to 90). Under such situation, a teacher is absolutely unable to have adequate energy to take care of every student. Trying to use multimedia and computer-aided language learning system and adopting the form of discussion and arguing are meaningful to promote learner autonomy in a big class.
