Deep Cultural Factors of the Enlightened Gentry Supporting Anti-Japanese War--Taking Deng Yangzhong Who Lived in Xin County,Shanxi Province as the Example

In the national salvation movement, Deng Yangzhong who lived in Xin County,Shan-xi province as representative, the enlightened gentry who had the prestige and the status which were known in the village soci- ety, supported positively the anti-Japanese war by each channel, which made the significant contribution for the Chinese nation resistance outside＇ s shame and the maintenance of nationality dignity. In this process, they have realized the high unification in the self-value and the social value. Their behaviors, thinking and value orienta- tion often deeply rooted in Chinese traditional culture and expounded its essence. Namely, these factors include the patriotic feelings, self-improvement spirit, kindheartedness and flexible ability.
