晚清教会学校“英语争论”的历史分析

Analysis of History about the ＂English Dispute＂ in the Church Schools in the Late Qing Dynasty

There are two causes for the ＂English dispute＂ in the church schools in the late Qing Dynasty.First,the churches were hesitant about whether to choose English or Chinese in preaching.Second,inside the churches there were differences in the views on the teaching purpose and means for church schools.The result is that the English-supporting side won the dispute.It should be said that it was a ＂forced＂ response to the then ＂English needs＂.
