通过分析美国诺贝尔文学奖作家托妮.莫里森的长篇小说《宠儿》中具有主题意义的三个关键词——"创伤"、"爱"和"社群"的双重性,指出一向被认为只具负面效应的"创伤"对黑人身份的建立产生了一定的积极作用,而一向被认为具有肯定意义的"爱"和"社群"却显示了各自的负面性。在《宠儿》中能看到的正面启示是:即使在绝望和毁灭性的磨难之中,人们仍然可以在磨难的另一端看到解脱和希望。

The Doublenesses of Trauma, Love and Community in Beloved

This paper argues that trauma,love and community,the three major elements bearing thematic significance in the Nobel-prize winning writer Toni Morrison's Beloved,are marked by doublenesses.In other words,trauma,which is always alleged negative,turns out to have a certain positive side in the establishment of the black characters' identity,while love and community,which are commonly alleged positive,show their negative sides.The positive message we can get from Beloved is that,even in desperate and devastating suffering,we can still see salvation and hope at the other edge of it.
