美国大学人文教育课程评述与启示

摘    要:虽然美国大学在自身的发展中创造了自己的传统——实用主义倾向,但也保留了重视人文教育的传统——那种将人文教育与科学教育相结合的古老传统。现代大学引入中国后,由于近代历史和传统文化等方面的原因,西方式的大学理念很难在中国被完全继承和发展,其中包括西方大学重视人文教育的传统。研究美国大学文理科学生通识教育的课程设置,能为我国提供许多宝贵的借鉴,使中国大学教育逐步融合科学精神与人文精神。

Abstract:American universities have created their own tradition-the practical tendency in the development, but they still maintain the old tradition that liberal education is combined with science education. Though the concept of modern university has been introduced into China, for reasons of history and traditional culture, the idea of western university, in which the tradition that liberal education was laid more emphasis on was included, can hardly be inherited and developed totally. It is greatly helpful for us to study the curriculum of general education to students both in arts and science specialties in American universities, and make liberal education to be combined gradually with science education in Chinese universities.
