| Abstract: | Through the analysis of the complicate relationship among the direct democracy in the city-state of the Ancient Athens,Socrates'fate of individual liberty and his belief of totalitarianism,the author tries to elucidate the significance of the acute conflicts in the text of the death of Socrates between the positive freedom and the negative freedom. |
