Iconicity Criteria of Functional Equivalence Translation

Based on language communication,functional equivalence shows the iconicity between the receptor language and the source language： the iconicity of the receptor＇s responding in terms of communicative effect and the iconicity of meaning and style in the process of translation.Due to wide-ranging receptors as well as connotation and denotation of meaning and style,functional equivalence theory is characterized by different levels,diversity of translation criteria,which is believed to shed a new light on the direction and implementation of translation practice.
