论模糊语言在广告英语中的运用

摘    要:模糊性是语言的一种基本属性,而模糊语言是一种广泛存在于日常交际中的语言。广告英语中通过使用一些模糊性的名词、数量词、形容词及动词等在表达字面意义的同时又暗示多重含义,而且广告英语的模糊性也体现在句式的运用上,从而激发读者的想象,吸引他们的注意,增强广告的说服力。

Abstract:Fuzziness(or Vagueness) is one of the essential properties of language.This paper introduces a widely existing phenomenon in Advertising English—fuzziness.Nouns,numerals,adjectives and verbs are analyzed to reveal lexical features that are used by advertisers to achieve their persuasive targets.When used in advertisements,fuzzy language can bring about distinctive effect in promoting products and services,so as to stimulate the readers’ imagination,attract their attention and enhance the persuasiveness of advertisements.
