Approaching Richard Rorty--Conversation on Analysis of the Dialogue of Philosophy,Post Modernism and Philosophy of Culture with Mr.Rorty

A new generation of American analytic philosophers have already broken through the limit of philosophy of mind and philosophy of language that was established by traditional analytic philosophy. They attempt to carry on the positive dialogue with Continental philosophy. This is a noticeable transformation of philosophy development of our times. Though the differences still exist, just as the experience of reaching the same goal by different routes of Wittgenstein and Heidegger, analytic philosophy and continental philosophy are moving towards a certain common theme, such as replacing philosophy of mind with conversational philosophy. This makes the appearance of philosophy of this age have great difference from that of the old days. Chinese philosophy circle is attempting to incorporate in this transition of great significance. The question which the Chinese scholars care about most is undoubtedly: the abundant communication of tradition and modern as well as the dialogue that is located in the deep layer between the East and the West.
