It is considered that the chief viewpoints in On Education include: to establish a lofty ambition before learning; to raise questions and doubts skillfully while learning; to think independently; to make friends with the right persons; to learn what one is capable of; to advance in an orderly way and gradually; to combine pre-class preparation with post-class revision, inside-class learning with outside-class learning; to combine thinking, learning with acting effectively; to achieve mastery through a comprehensive study of the subject; to learn extensively and intensively; to extend respect for the teachers.
