Caring for Life: Pearl S. Buck and Chinese Reproductive Culture

Pearl S.Buck witnessed the reproductive culture in old China,which was vividly described in her The Good Earth trilogy.She,from the viewpoint of a woman and a mother,advocated birth control for Chinese women,and established special institutions to take care of the orphans,all of which showed her caring for women's life and solicitation for the society.Her understanding of Chinese reproductive culture enriched literary creation as well as promoted the understanding of Chinese culture on the part of the Westerners.
