She received her B.A. from Tougaloo College and her M.A. and Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Her academic areas of specialization are social psychology, social deviancy, and theories in social conflict and change. She is presently conducting research on black women in Mississippi and self-esteem, which is supported by a National Science Foundation grant. |
