| Abstract: | This paper will focus on "platonic love" in the stage of a noble Chinese family.Both an essential issue and a complicated conception,that love can only be grasped with unerring accuracy when an awakening to Buddhism form being moved by woman's beauty is viewed as related.It embodies the idea of "bright masculinity",by which Fan Tongde means that one is addicted to womanizing.As a "prodigal Buddhist monk",Jia Baoyu undergoes a long process of the formation and development of personality,form Brighteness to Liasison,to Lasciviousness,and eventually to Abstinence. |
