| Abstract: | This paper deals with the main achievements in the medical education in the Liao Dynasty in the following four aspects: the predatory study of medicine by the ruling class, the translation of the medical books from the Han nationality as the textbooks, the emphasis laid on self-study and the private teaching of medicine and the communication of medical knowledge. All this played an important role in promoting the popularization of medical knowledge and skills in backward areas in the north. |
