| Abstract: | Prof.Tan Chongtai is a development economist in China with nation-wide reputation of academic authority. He is the first scholar who has systemically introduced development economics into China and made pioneering contributions in his research and teaching. From introducing the development economics and reviewing it to making innovation in this field in the past fifty years, he has formed prolific thoughts on economic development, which has left profound influence on the exploration of economic theory in China. Regardless of his outstanding achievement in academic works, he remains very modest and takes reputation lightly. His respectable personality deserves our admiration. |
