论商务印书馆与中国出版文化

摘    要:在印刷时代,出版物是人类获取知识最重要的媒介,出版机构也成为人类创造知识、积累知识和传播知识的枢纽。与此同时,出版机构也是一种商业机构,它需要获取足够的利润以维系正常的运作,满足其人员的各种需求。正是这两重属性决定了出版机构必须在商业利益和社会公益之间做出完美的平衡。商务印书馆是中国出版机构中最杰出的典范,它为中国的现代启蒙事业做出了巨大的贡献,为中国的出版事业开创了一个优良的传统,这种传统一直影响到现在。

Abstract:In the printing era,the publication is the most important media for human to acquire knowledge,and the publishing agency is the hub for human to create and communicate knowledge.Meanwhile,publishing agency is also a commercial agency,and needs to gain enough profits to keep on going and meet all kinds of needs of its staff.The dual characters make it necessary that the publishing agency keep a perfect balance between commercial profits and social benefit.The Commercial Press is the most illustrious model in Chinese publishing history;it contributes greatly to the cause of Chinese modern enlightenment,and also initiates a fine tradition for Chinese publishing cause,which has a great influence up to now.
