Research on the Strategic Location of Iraq on the Board of the Middle East

Geopolitics, a study of strategy on geography, is the theoretical pillar of Realism in the International Relations. The American foreign policy of Bush administration is conspicuously characterized by Realism and pragmatism, particularly its policy to the Middle East after the Afghanistan War. Ignoring the UN, NATO and even the European alliances, America launched a war against Iraq. The military invasion lies in the profound reasons in economy, politics, culture, and value etc, yet American middle-east policy can be more clearly understood from the viewpoint of geopolitics. The research on the strategic location of Iraq and its role on the strategic board of the Middle East is of great significance to the study of the configuration evolvement in the future Middle East.
