On the Combination of Grammar with Rhetoric in "Ma's Grammar"

One of the great features in Ma Jianzhong's book "Ma's Grammar" is to describe and study grammar in combination with rhetoric. His way of syntactic analysis is influenced by the traditional Chinese philology and the traditional grammatical theory in Europe. He analyzes the rhetorical function in the discussion of words, phrases and sentences. When stating grammar he explains the rhetorical ways and comments the language style.
