文化都市的历史源流与当代阐释

"文化都市"是都市文化学的一个新范畴。与传统的政治型、经济型城市不同,文化都市是以文化资源为主要生产对象、以文化产业为先进生产力代表、以高文化含量的现代服务业为文明标志的新城市形态。它最突出的特征是城市的文化形态与精神功能成为推动城市发展的主要力量与核心机制。"文化"与"都市"在历史上一直密不可分。一方面,大城市聚集的人口与财富直接刺激了城市文化功能的发展;另一方面,高度发达的文化功能又不断地扩展到城市生活的政治、经济与社会各方面,使原本主要倾向于实用目的的古代城市在城市结构、功能上发生变化,由此形成文化都市的古典形态与模式。都市化进程极大地改变了当代都市的形态、结构、功能与性质,使城市文化功能成为衡量城市发展水平、创新能力、综合竞争力与社会和谐的基本尺度。以城市文化功能高度发达为基础和特征的文化都市日益成为城市发展的新理念与核心战略框架。

The Historical Origin and Contemporary Interpretation of Cultural Metropolis

"Cultural metropolis" is a new category of metropolitan culture study.Different from the traditional political and economic cities,cultural metropolis is a new city modality which takes the cultural resource as the major production object,takes the cultural industry as the representative of the advanced productivity,and takes the modern service industry with the high cultural content as the civilized symbol,and its most prominent characteristics are that the urban cultural modality and spiritual function become the main force and core mechanism to impel the urban development.The metropolitanization advancement changes the modality,structure,function and nature of contemporary metropolis enormously,and makes the urban cultural function become the basic criterion to measure the urban development level,innovation ability,synthetic competitive ability and social harmonious.The cultural metropolis taking the highly developed urban cultural function as its basis and characteristic has become the new idea and core strategic frame of the urban development increasingly.
