| Abstract: | Based on systematic and functional grammar,this paper mainly discusses metaphors of mood,and puts forward that the analysis on metaphors of mood can be applied to determine the speakers＇ relationship and their closeness. It proves its feasibility through the example of Earnest Hemingway＇s short story ＂Cat in the Rain＂. |
