近代日本“民族国家”论

个体的政治地位是决定国家性格的重要因素。近代日本的“国民”是一个矛盾的复合体。它一方面因缺乏主体性而表现为“臣民”，另一方面又实现了与国家的紧密结合。因为没有本来意义上的国民，近代日本就不能称为“国民国家”，而只能是“民族国家”。

A Study on the "Ethnical State" of Modern Japan:"Ethical State" or "National State"

The individual political status is the important factor which decides the national character.The"national"of modern Japan is a contradictory complex.On the one hand it lacks independence as"the subject",on the other hand it has achieved the close combination of the people and the state.Just Because the modern Japan does not have the original significance of nation,it cannot be called"national state",but known as"ethnical state".
