“河表七州”曾为南朝疆土 ,在学术、文艺上都近于南朝。入魏后 ,此地人士虽受到北魏统治者的歧视 ,但他们将南朝学术带入北魏 ,对南北学术交流和北魏学术文艺的兴起 ,有着极大的推动作用。

The Seven Prefectures along the Yellow River" was once part of the territory of the Southern Dynasties. Therefore its learning, literature and art were bordering on those of the Southern Dynasties. During the reign of the Northern Wei Dynasty, though being looked down upon by the rulers, the people here introduced the learning of the Southern Dynasties to the Northern Wei Dynasty, thus greatly promoted the exchange of learning between the North and the South, advanced the upsurge of the learning, literature and art of the Northern Wei Dynasty.
