On Cognitive Approach to the Generation of the Existential Sentence in English and Chinese

The generation of the existential sentences is one of the most important subjects with a lot of arguments in the language research.The paper makes a research about the cognitive process in the generation of existential sentences in English and Chinese in the frame of cognitive linguistics.It analyzes its usages of mechanism and the effects of Man's cognitive on the generation of existential sentences in English and Chinese from the point of the Man's perception and information encoding.The word of "There" used in the English existential sentences,which seems meaningless,relates closely with its verb and it is decided not only by the existential verb,but also by Man's cognition.
