| 摘 要： | 隐喻是人类认知世界的基础，是人类的一种思维方式。隐喻意义取象与诸多因素有关。从生理学及化学视角看，“底层结构”促使英汉隐喻意义的取象具有相同之处，而“上层结构”，如地理环境、知识观念、思维方式等差异，是导致英汉意义取象产生差异的主要原因。

| Abstract: | Human congnition of the world is fundamentally metaphorical in nature. The metaphorical meaning is attributed to a variety of factors. This paper analyzes the effect of substructure and superstructure on metaphorical meaning in English and Chinese, points thatthe similarties are caused by substructure, while the diffetructure by superstructure. |
