Abstract: | Results are presented from a 1993 survey conducted in Moscow, Kiev, and Minsk, involving 1,000 Jews and their potential for emigration. The results indicate that, although nearly all Jews would emigrate if conditions worsened significantly, 57% of those interviewed did not currently plan to emigrate, 14% were undecided, and 29% planned to leave. Of those planning to leave, about half hoped to go to the United States, and only one-quarter planned to go to Israel. |
