回顾与反思——我的治学感悟

在治学的路上跋涉了近50年,我深深地体会到:政治的民主化,"百家"争鸣的真正实施,是治学者自由驰骋的坦途.即使遇到局部的短时间干扰,只要本着实事求是的原则,坚守良知,加点韧性,终究能有所发现,有所前进.作为高校教师,要把教学和科研结合起来,在学科的特定范围内选题就有可能既取得研究成果,又能使教学质量不断有所提高.我认为真善美是文学的最高要求,也是文学批评的基本准则.而正本清源、求真务实在中国现代文学研究领域中有着重大意义.

Retrospect and Reflections--Thoughts from My Teaching and Research

In the course of my almost fifty years' teaching and academic research, I fully realized that political democratization and the contention of various schools of thought can give full play to scholars' academic enthusiasm. Even when confronted with temporary difficulties, they can make some progress by sticking to the principle of seeking truth from facts and through their conscience and perseverance. College teachers should combine their teaching with academic research. They can make some break-through by focusing on a certain subject and promote their teaching job in return. In my opinion, truth, goodness and beauty are the highest level of literature and the basic principle of literary criticism. Radical reform, pursuit of truth and practical work are of great significance in the field of literary studies.
